Spotlight on a Scholar: Daniel Glenn on Focusing on Leadership

With the year now underway, we are excited to share insights from the Scholars in their own words.

Daniel Glenn served in the United States military for 10 years, studying international relations at the United States Naval Academy before earning a Master degree in Government from the University of Maryland. As a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (Special Operations) Officer, Daniel deployed twice in two major campaigns, leading teams called upon to defuse IEDs, dive in search of underwater explosives, and dismantle chemical weapons. Daniel founded two philanthropic efforts in his spare time, and once broke a Guinness World Record for running a mile in an 80-lb bomb suit in 8 minutes and 30 seconds. Following Schwarzman Scholars, he intends to move into the private sector before pursuing his desire to serve as an honest broker in the Senate. Daniel is 28 years old and from the United States of America.
