Samuel Hsiao is originally from Taiwan. His interest focuses on financial inclusion issues using payment technology to reduce unequal accessibility in financial services. He worked for the Gates Foundation for his practical training project, and helped connect local entrepreneurs in social innovation and impact investing between Beijing and Taipei. While at Schwarzman College, Samuel promoted the gratitude among fellow scholars including co-hosting an appreciation dinner for all college staff. Samuel holds a bachelor degree in diplomacy from National Chengchi University and worked in the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) for two years prior to joining the Schwarzman Scholars Program.
