As a daughter of Eritrean immigrants who fled the country due to poor social and economic conditions, Rawan Galaidos was determined to alleviate some of the harsh realities facing African communities. To exercise this passion, she started a social enterprise called The Ubuntu Project (www.theubuntuproj.com). In addition, Rawan is a Princeton in Africa fellow serving as Chief of Staff at the African Leadership Academy in South Africa. Prior to that, she worked as a management consultant for two years, graduated from UCLA Class of 2015 as magna cum laude, and participated in business programs at UC Berkeley and Yale. Rawan is 23 years old and from the United States.
