Namit Choksi was born and raised in Mumbai, India where he graduated with his MD. Post this, he went on to pursue his medical clerkships and global health focused research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His primary interest lies in reducing maternal deaths and improving healthcare accessibility for the underprivileged. His determination in working towards this goal and passion for public speaking has led him around the world to represent his country. Namit hopes to be a physician leader someday and earlier this year, he graduated with an MPH from Harvard as the class of 2017 Vice – President. During his time at the school, he worked with his mentor at Harvard to launch a world bank acclaimed low – cost uterine balloon (The ESM- UBT) in India and also served as an intern to the Union Minister of Railways – Mr. Suresh Prabhu who mentored him in negotiation, strategy and good governance. Besides this, he’s a drummer and a certified DJ. Namit is 26 years old and from India.
