Daniel Ming Zhong Ng (2020)
Daniel Ng is a final-year student pursuing a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Yale-NUS College and LL.B. from the National University of Singapore. He holds the rank of Captain in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and is a Reservist Company Commander in an Infantry Battalion. Daniel’s accolades from his active military service include the Sword of Merit (top 10% in Officer Cadet School) and an unprecedented Letter of Commendation to his platoon for its exemplary performance. Fascinated with the concept of systemic justice, Daniel has been involved in military justice, youth mentorship and educational equity. In university, he co-founded a pro-bono criminal law education program and a social enterprise connecting youths with mentors in a structured manner. For his social impact work, Daniel was awarded the Yale-NUS Emerging Young Leaders Award – awarded to only one person per cohort. Daniel seeks to continue pursuing systemic justice where it is most needed as an international lawyer. Upon graduation from the Schwarzman Scholars program, Daniel will train to be a solicitor with Clifford Chance Asia. Daniel is 25 years old and from Singapore.
