Hoonik Chang is a graduate of Brown University. At Brown, he pursued a dual concentration in Computer Science and Visual Arts. As an officer in the Republic of Korea Air Force, he served the nation’s top military leadership as an interpreting officer. Most recently, he worked at the Office of the Minister, serving the Korean Minister of National Defense. In this capacity, he spearheaded the ministry’s diplomatic efforts in engaging with defense ministers around the world to curb North Korean aggression. In the process, Hoonik has witnessed how leadership is channeled to promote multilateral cooperation. As a Schwarzman Scholar, he hopes to develop the global perspective and core leadership skills necessary to navigate through some of the most complex issues of the 21st century. Hoonik is 28 years old and from the Republic of Korea.
