Chang ZHAO graduated with honors from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, and currently works as a Global Academic Fellow at NYU Shanghai where she conducts research and teaches undergraduate students. An aspiring anthropologist who wants to combine ethnographic research and policymaking, Chang has carried out fieldwork on urban renewal projects and cultural heritage preservation, and has presented her results at multiple academic conferences in the United States. During her time at UNC, Chang was a member of the Order of the Grail-Valkyrie, and also held the Joint Senate Critic position of the Dialectic and Philanthropic Societies, the UNC literary and debate society, as the first-ever Chinese student. Chang is 25 years old and from China.
