Benjamin Harris graduated in May 2016 from the University of Virginia, double-majoring in Physics and Political & Social Thought with a focus on international. Reared in Appalachia, Ben became a Jefferson Scholar, Raven Society member, and President of the Washington Literary Society and Debating Union. Elected to Phi Beta Kappa as a third-year, he has researched casualty sensitivity, the nuclear taboo, and violence’s effect on social norms. He hopes to pursue a career in diplomacy or academia, perhaps both. As a Schwarzman Scholar, he anticipates gaining insight into China’s perspective on the intersection between military and diplomatic policy. Benjamin is 22 years old and from the United States of America.
