Beixi Li graduated from the University of Rochester with a Master’s degree in Public Health. She obtained her medical degree from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University in 2015. Beixi is a licensed Preventive Medicine Doctor in China. She worked as a physician in Xuhui Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for two years, responding to foodborne diseases and public health emergencies. During her study in the United States, Beixi interned in the Center for Tobacco-Free Finger Lakes funded by NYSDOH. She spent time helping people to learn the health hazards of tobacco and e-cigarettes, especially teens and adolescents. Beixi hopes to improve and strengthen policies regulating tobacco and e-cigarettes worldwide. She believes preventive medicine and public health is the most important way to save the lives of hundreds of millions of people in the world. Beixi is 28 years old and from China.
