This course will help students to understand the progresses and lessons learned of social innovations and leadership in China in recent years. The course will cover many areas of social development, such as social investment, poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, education, healthcare, environment protection, aging issue etc. Using many real cases in China and some with my own experience, the course will explore how social innovations, especially those digitalized and some AI related innovations and new technologies, are changing those most difficult social areas in China. Project Based Learning (PBL) method will be applied in the class. Students are expected to form groups to address a real social issue identified during field trips.
