I Naishad Kai-ren earned a Bachelors degree in History and Middle East Studies, with highest honors, at Brown University. While in college, he served as Student Director of the Writing Fellows program and President of the History Departmental Undergraduate Group. He has experience working in an internet start-up, Singapore’s Embassy in Jakarta, the Office of Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo, and Microsoft. Through the Schwarzman Scholars program, Naishad hopes to cultivate a better understanding of China and foster lasting ties across countries and cultures. He will commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Singapore Armed Forces and is a President’s Scholar. Naishad is 23 years old and from Singapore.
