Matthew Salm studies mathematics as a McDermott Scholar at the University of Texas at Dallas. He plans to pursue a PhD in economics and work on climate policy issues. A Truman Scholar and Udall Scholar, Matt has researched environmental conservation in Bhutan and interned with environmental economics teams at the World Bank and US Environmental Protection Agency. At UT Dallas, he founded the chapter of Food Recovery Network, worked as a teaching assistant for an honors physics course, and served as president of the school’s Sustainability Club. Matt also enjoys hiking, playing soccer, and doing pretty much anything outdoors.
