Marguerite Wedeman graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from George Washington University in May 2016, where she majored in International Affairs and Chinese language. A US Department of State Critical Language Scholar, Marguerite’s senior thesis examined Chinese discourse on non-traditional security and illuminated challenges to and areas for Sino-American collaboration on such issues. After graduating from Schwarzman Scholars, Marguerite will join the National Committee on US – China Relations. Outside of academics, Marguerite enjoys discussing American politics and foreign policy, and was a Nebraska delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Marguerite is 23 and from the United States.
