Arnaaz Ameer is a Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellow. As a Legislative Assistant she has drafted Private Member Bills on the elimination of caste-based surnames and on mandating a Special Component Plan and Tribal Sub-Plan for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Arnaaz graduated from Gujarat National Law University with a Dual Bachelor in Law and Social Work (Honours). At law school, she worked on gender justice, education and access to justice for socio-economically underrepresented minorities. She also established the GNLU Gender & Sexuality Forum and organised the first queer film festival across all National Law Universities in India. Arnaaz is 22 years old and from India.
