Spotlight on a Scholar: Blaise Buma on Meeting His Fellow Scholars

With the year now underway, we are excited to share insights from the Scholars in their own words.

Blaise Buma is a recent graduate of Washington and Lee University and currently works at Goldman Sachs, which has given him leave to join the first class of Schwarzman Scholars. He grew up in Cameroon and from a young age set his sights on pursuing higher education abroad. Blaise is the co-founder of Open Dreams, an international education NGO. As a Schwarzman Scholar, Blaise plans to study China’s economic “miracle” and to use this knowledge to help shape the future trajectory of his home country. Blaise is 28 years old and from Cameroon.
