Mr. Gao Xiqing is Hongtian Chair Professor at UIBE Law school. Supervisory Board Chairman of the Future Science Forum, and of the Westlake University. Between 2014 to 2019, Mr. Gao had served as Yu-tong Cheng Chair Professor at Tsinghua University School of Law and the Kenneth Yun professor at Duke University School of Law. Mr. Gao also served as a trustee on the Duke University board since 2006, a member of the Advisory Council of Duke Kunshan University since 2014, an honorary chair of the Apple Charity Foundation in Ali, Tibet since 2016, a director on the board of Serve for China since 2016, and some advisory functions for several other public interests organizations.

Mr. Gao has served as either a member or the chairman of arbitration panels for hundreds of international trade or investment disputes between Chinese and foreign companies, under the CIETAC, HKIAC and the Arbitration Institute of Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Before his retirement from the government, he was the vice chairman, president and Chief Investment Officer of China Investment Corporation, China's sovereign wealth fund, from 2007 to 2014. He served as vice chairman of the National Council for Social Security Fund of China from 2003 to 2007, following his position as vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) from 1999 to 2003. As a co-founder of Stock Exchange Executive Council, he was instrumental in the establishment of Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges and the founding of the CSRC in the early 1990s.
