Managing Risk: Insurance, Financial and Accounting Perspectives

This course will conduct a detailed examination of the concept and reality of risk. Students will learn how to evaluate and manage risk: be it an individual’s insurance or market-based risk or an organization’s strategic or operational risk. Readings and lectures will cover a broad array of relevant concepts and techniques from probability theory, insurance economics, accounting, and finance. Students will learn the fundamental models and methods used to evaluate and manage risk in its many manifestations.
