Cities are the key to our future. By 2050, the planet’s population will predominantly live in large cities. If we cannot get these cities right, the planet will founder.  The course will consist of four themes: Cities and Economy; Cities and Equality (including health and housing); Cities and Infrastructure (with special attention being paid to information and communications technology); Cities and Climate Change. The course will illustrate these themes through examples of contemporary large cities in China and the West with particular emphasis on the development of urban theory and on practical policy solutions.
